Thank you for visiting my website. I am a Spanish filmmaker based in Los Angeles, CA, who has developed his craft in the film industry for more than a decade. I am a proud 2018 Film Independent Project Involve Fellow and am a writer supported by the Berggruen Institute in their retreat program, Vaster than Empires.
As a writer/director, I recently wrapped my debut feature film, "Me, After You". This film is the launching project of my production company, RURU Films, which I established to continue creating and championing nuanced, international stories. Shot entirely in Los Angeles, this film offers a deeply personal story about immigration, sexuality, and self-discovery, providing an authentic look at the city through the lens of multicultural characters and experiences. I am also in development of two feature films: "Lifestyle" and the Sci-Fi "Numina".
My short films, including "Of Hearts and Castles" and "Masaru", have been selected and awarded in dozens of prestigious domestic and international film festivals, such as Oscar-Qualifying Palm Springs ShortFest, Outfest LGBTQ Los Angeles, Edmonton Film Festival, Out On Film Atlanta’s LGBTQ Film Festival, and BFI Flare by the British Film Institute; and even winning two years in a row at Festival de Cine de Málaga.
As an editor, I worked on the Apple TV+ show "Lady in the Lake" starring Natalie Portman and directed by Alma Har'el. I was also an additional editor on the film "Sam & Kate" directed by Darren Le Gallo, starring Dustin Hoffman and Sissy Spacek, with Executive Producer Amy Adams. I recently edited the short film "Wannabe", making history as the first Ecuadorian film ever selected for the Tribeca Film Festival 2025. I have also edited an episode of the Critics' Choice Award nominee "Acapulco" (AppleTV), the Spanish feature film "Marco Polo" directed by Pablo Riesgo, the digital series "East of La Brea" (premiered at SXSW) directed by Samantha Bailey (Marvel's "Ironheart") and executive produced by Paul Feig, and numerous other projects.
If you would like to know more about me, I invite you to check my website and feel free to contact me. I am very excited to be able to work with you and keep creating inclusive content and stories full of art and soul.
